Supporting Change and impact

Supporting Change & Impact.

Dorset Youth Association (DYA), Volunteer Centre Dorset (VDC) and da21, with support from Dorset Community Action, have been successful in securing funding from the Big Lottery. The project, which runs from 1st June 2012 to 31st March 2013, aims to support Dorset’s rural youth clubs and groups by developing a network of trained and CRB checked volunteers to help sustain their activities into the future.

DYA and VCD will also work closely with da21, to develop links between Dorset’s Transition Town movement, environmental groups and projects and Youth Clubs and Groups to encourage greater youth involvement and develop more youth volunteering opportunities.

DYA, VCD and da21 will work closely together providing information, advice and training to groups and volunteers to which will also lead to more youth clubs and groups having a better understanding of environmental sustainability principles and tools and more youth clubs & groups, transition towns and environmental projects having improved volunteer recruitment and management practices for the future.

To find out more about this project if you are a transition town or environmental project looking for youth volunteersf or a youth club or group in need of volunteers to help run your activities or interested in finding out more about environmental sustainability or want to get involved in a “green” project, please contact either Susan Anders or Paul McIntosh at Dorset Agenda 21 using the contact details on this website.
